The Slate is a small-footprint chair for rooms where every inch between tables counts. Its plywood back curves deeply to cradle the shoulders, so it feels more generous than its compact size suggests, and its four slim steel legs keep the floor clear for cleaning.
Construction. Steel tube legs and back supports, powder-coated black; molded plywood back in a walnut tone with a clear coat; padded seat in contract vinyl on a plywood pan. All upholstered parts are removable.
Cleaning minutes. Vinyl seat, coated plywood back and powder-coated legs can all be wiped with a standard sanitizer; check your chemical against the vinyl mill's cleaning guide.
Where it works. Tight fast casual rooms, two-top rows, cafes and university dining.
Options. Seat vinyl color, back veneer tone, frame color.
Spacing. At about 18 in (46 cm) wide, two Slates sit comfortably at a 24 × 30 in (61 × 76 cm) two-top, and four at a 30 × 48 in (76 × 122 cm) table, leaving room to pull out without bumping the next table. Order 5-10% spares per model.
